MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Heritage Christian School is to assist parents in educating their children to impact the world for Christ.

HISTORY
Heritage Christian School was founded in 1982 by a group of caring parents who felt strongly that the people of Gallatin Valley should have a Christian educational alternative for their children. The school began its ministry with Kindergarten through sixth grade. In 1986, Heritage grew and purchased the initial building and three much-needed acres at its current location.

In 1990 seventh grade was added and eighth grade followed in 1991. In 1994 the school purchased an additional ten acres adjacent to its existing facility to accommodate increasing enrollment. Additional facilities were built soon thereafter. A preschool was added in 1999 and expanded in 2002 with the opening of the Early Learning Center, an educational childcare program for which the original building is now used.

Grade nine was added in 2003 with the construction of a gymnasium and more classrooms. In 2004 grade ten was added as construction began on a 15,000 square-foot addition to house Heritage's high school program, including classrooms, locker rooms, stage, computer lab, library, and a commercial kitchen. By 2006 Heritage will house a total of twenty classrooms on a 13-acre campus, enrolling children ages 12 months to 18 years old. God has continually grown His school through the active participation, support and faith of our families.

Heritage Christian School is fully accredited through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools and has been a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) since 1994.

PURPOSE
The rationale for the existence of Heritage Christian School is to assist parents, as an extension of the Christian home, in providing an education that is thoroughly and distinctively Christian, challenging each student to grow in Christ-likeness. It is our goal through teaching and training to prepare young people to function as individuals who can reason and relate all issues of life to the doctrinal foundation of the Christian faith.

GOALS
In all aspects of its program, Heritage Christian School seeks to do the following:

  • Encourage every child to begin and develop a relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ.
  • Provide a clear model of the biblical Christian life by our leadership and staff.
  • Teach all subjects as part of an integrated whole with the scriptures at the center.
  • Maintain high academic standards for each student with the expectation that all can succeed.
  • Provide an orderly atmosphere conducive to the attainment of the above goals.
