Heritage Christian School Curriculum
Heritage Christian School strives to maintain the highest standards possible in developing and implementing a quality, God-honoring curriculum. The Heritage curriculum adheres to the stages of the classical model for child development and instruction and aligns with state and national standards. Curriculum materials are selected for their Christian content and effectiveness in producing student achievement. While some secular textbooks are used for instruction and others for comparative analysis, emphasis is placed on using materials from Christian publishers that assist students in developing Christian values.
Heritage teachers employ a variety of teaching methods to maximize student achievement in the classroom and to cultivate a Christian worldview. Bible instruction at all levels emphasizes application of wisdom that goes beyond the assimilation of facts to the teaching of values, truth, and godly decision-making.
Students at Heritage may also choose from a variety of co-curricular activities and events to augment their learning such as the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C., Ski P.E. Day, high school missions trips, and local and regional competitions including the National Business Challenge, National Geographic Bee, the MCTM Math Contest, MSU Science Olympiad, WordMasters, and spelling bee.
