Heritage Christian School Tuition & Fees

TUITION
Student tuition for children in kindergarten is $2700 per student; $4200 per student for children in grades 1-6; and $4575 per student for grades 7-12. Each family also pays an annual base tuition of $500 per family; families with only one kindergarten child pay a base tuition of $300 per year. Parents may choose from among four payment plans to pay tuition: payment in full, two equal payments, ten monthly payments, or twelve equal payments.

Payment Plans

• Plan A Payment paid in full on or before August 25.
• Plan B Payment paid in two equal installments: half the total amount on or before August 25, and the balance on or before January 2.
• Plan C Ten equal payments due on the first of each month, August through May.
• Plan D Twelve equal payments due on the first of each month, June through May.

Billing Schedule/Delinquent Accounts Policy
Statements are mailed to parents between the 20th and 25th of each month; payment is due on the first. To help parents keep up regular payments, prevent occurrence of an insurmountable past due balance, and to enable Heritage Christian School to meet its financial obligations in a responsible fashion, the following delinquent account process has been established:

• 15 days past due These accounts are considered delinquent and a service charge of $20 will be assessed each month the account remains past due. As a reminder a phone call will be made.
• 30 days past due These accounts will receive a phone call from the administrator.
• 45 days past due The administrator will refer these accounts to the Board.
• 90 days past due The student may be suspended and student records held until the account is made current.

All accounts must be paid in full by May 1 of the current school year.

Early Withdrawal/Student Absence Policy
Tuition is prorated for students who withdraw from school for any reason or who enroll after the school year has begun according to the actual number of days enrolled. All withdrawals, whether before or during the school year, must be made in writing and shall be effective when received by the school. Because tuition is calculated on the basis of the entire year, reductions cannot be made for family vacations or holidays. Requests for tuition reductions due to absences for other reasons may be granted by Board approval only.

FEES
Registration Fee
Each family is assessed an annual registration fee for the purpose of ensuring the child's place in the class and for the administration of textbook and materials purchases. Registration fees are required at the time of enrollment and are non-refundable unless admission is denied by the school. Current registration fees are as follows: Kindergarten-Grade 6, $200; Grades 7-8, $250; Grades 9-12, $300.

Testing Fee
New students (only) seeking admission to Heritage Christian School must be tested before admission and are required to pay a one-time testing fee of $25 for the administration of the school's student entrance test.

Extracurricular Activity Fee
An annual activity fee is charged to each student who chooses to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities. The activity fee pays for coaches, travel, equipment, and officials for students who participate in these activities. The current activity fee is $75 per student and is payable prior to the beginning of the season. Activity fees are non-refundable.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Heritage Christian School believes that education is mandated by God and therefore desires to assist in providing education for Christian families in need. Heritage offers a variety of tuition-reducing options available to its families. Information and applications can be obtained in the school office. Current tuition discounts are as follows:

Multiple-Child Discounts
All families with more than one child enrolled receive a discount on total student tuition of 5% for two students, 10% for three students, and 15% for four or more.

P.I.E.C.E. Program
P.I.E.C.E. (Parents Involved in Effective Christian Education) is a voluntary parent work program available to all families that allows parents to reduce their tuition by up to $500 per year by providing services that would normally be an expense to the school. Parents may select a position from a list of jobs offered by the school such as recess aide, library aide, tutor, custodial aide, substitute teacher, etc. Parents who choose to participate in P.I.E.C.E. submit monthly time logs and have their tuition accounts credited as they work hours at the school.

Financial Aid
All families may apply for financial aid by requesting a financial aid application from the office. Financial aid requests are evaluated annually on a per-case basis.

Pastoral Discounts
A discount on student tuition is available for families in which a parent is a full-time, local pastor.

Staff Discounts
Employees of Heritage Christian School who work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week are eligible for tuition discounts.

DONATIONS
Because tuition and fees do not cover the entire cost of operating a Christian school, Heritage depends on God to meet its financial needs through individuals who contribute in the following ways: gifts to the general fund and to special projects such as the building fund, gifts for special equipment, donations of labor and materials, and contributions to the scholarship* or financial aid funds. Heritage Christian School is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization and as such all gifts are tax deductible per IRS regulations.

*Donations to the scholarship fund must be made without family designation to qualify for a tax-deduction. Individuals wishing to donate to a particular family's tuition are encouraged to do so but do not qualify for a tax deduction.

FUNDRAISING
Heritage Christian School permits school and parent organizations, classes and clubs to sponsor various fundraisers throughout the year to finance field trips, activities, and special projects. The school conducts one annual fundraising event, the Spring Celebration/Auction, which is held each April. While students and parents are encouraged to support the school by participating in fundraising, student and parent involvement is voluntary.
