Programs Offered at the Early Learning Center

1. Traditional Preschool: Early Learning Center

  • Operates September through May
  • Follows HCS calendar (We do not hold preschool on PIR days or early release days from HCS)
  • Times: 8:30 - 11:30 or 12:00 - 3:00
  • 3 -4 year old class meets Tuesday and Thursday (3 year olds must be fully toilet trained to attend)
  • 4 -5 year old class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

The traditional preschool program is ideal for stay-at-home parents who desire a preschool atmosphere for their child to have socialization and kindergarten-readiness. The preschool uses a theme-based curriculum and has a very busy day. A normal day consists of two or three daily activity times, circle and calendar time, Bible activities, and free play inside and out on the play yard and a snack.

2. Educational-based Childcare

  • Open year-round. Closed major holidays only.
  • Hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Half days or full days available
  • Ages: 12 month through 12 years
  • Preschool-based curriculum

Our preschool-based childcare center is especially ideal for parents who work part-time or fulltime or those who want a little bit longer than a three-hour period of time for their child's preschool experience. We utilize a theme-based curriculum with age appropriate learning activities for all ages. The 4 -5 year classroom is a kindergarten-readiness program. A normal day will consist of two activity times, calendar and circle time, Bible stories and activities, large motor and music and free time outside and in as well as snacks and lunch. This program runs all year, with our summer program being a more relaxed atmosphere than the academic school year program. Information on our summer program is available in the early spring of each year.

3. Adventure Club (After school Program)

  • Year-round after school program
  • Opposite Kindergarten care
  • Care on Early Release and PIR days
  • Summer Day Camp Option
  • Kindergarten - 5th grade

Our after school program is a relaxed, fun environment. A typical afternoon may consists of snack, outdoor play time, a project, Bible activities, and homework help. The local public schools will transport or pick up children from Heritage for the parent's convenience. Fun, theme-based activities are offered on PIR and early release days and over the holidays. Information on the summer day camp activities are available in the early spring.

PARENT RESOURCES
Our goal is to be a family-oriented center. We want parents to feel welcome to visit their child's classroom, join them for lunch or even be a special guest in the classrooms. We also offer a warm, welcoming area in the front lobby that allows parents a place to sit and relax and visit with other parents. This area also has our parent lending library that has books and videos on parenting issues, marriage and Christian living. We also have a children's video lending library for families.

In addition to our lending library, we also offer parenting classes during the year. Some examples of classes offered include: Dr. Dobson's Essentials of Discipline and Bringing up Boys classes which are both series of sessions that run for an extended period of time. In addition to these extended classes, we also offer one evening seminars on topics like finances, establishing traditions in your family, helping your child develop strong character, and First Aid and CPR classes.
