The first meet is upon us this Friday, April 9, 12:00 at Manhattan Christian.
5/6 graders will run in the 7th grade division. We will give out event assignments Thursday in practice. At the meet each student will check in at each event when that event is called they want to do. We do want everyone to do at least 3 events.
We will take a van from the school, students will be dismissed from class at 11:05 and we will depart at 11:15. Please let us know if you will be transporting your own child either to or from the meet. The meet begins at 12:00 p.m. and will probably go until about 5:00 or so. The hope is that they will run ahead of schedule. My guess is we will be back to the school around 5:30, hopefully earlier.
Here is a brief checklist for things to make sure to bring to the meet:
--Uniform (we will hand out on Monday/Tuesday)
--Lunch/snacks (Not junk food)
--Sun protection/Rain protection.
--Homework? (There is often down time between events, so if there are no teammates to cheer on, this is a good time to get some work done.)
